Except conscripts

[edit]

Active personnel was up to 700.000+ back in February edit. Its already reduced to professional staff numbers 437.000 with a nato source. See Conscription in Turkey for further details & source's. The number of these conscripts is estimated to be 231,000 in early 2010s & also Turkey is second largest army in NATO.[1]

40 Billion budget?

[edit]

First this is about next year and it is not confirmed by sipri or NATO. Second it is unclear if it is still 40 billion if Turkish lira drops down. We better wait independent confirmation and not unverified claims. Shadow4dark (talk) 16:43, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also the budget is for Ministry of National Defense (Turkey) and they have other branches and not just Turkish armed forces. Shadow4dark (talk) 08:52, 30 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
47 billion in 2025 and 40 billion in 2024 sipri is an outdated source https://breakingdefense.com/2024/10/turkish-defense-spending-to-reach-record-high-amid-neighboring-conflicts/ https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/turkey-defence-security-budget-highest-47bn https://euro-sd.com/2023/10/news/34724/turkish-defence-spending-boost/ https://mil.in.ua/en/news/turkey-to-increase-military-budget-to-record-47-billion-in-2025/ https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/turkey-allocate-150-more-defense-budget-2024-minister-2023-10-17/ 2003:C3:4F27:C57:61D6:7FAF:FC92:F939 (talk) 12:28, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sipri is not outdated but this are the actual numbers. Your news reports are statements from non verifiable claims about next year. Shadow4dark (talk) 20:09, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Random reverts on my contribution

[edit]

Publicly accessible report by the Court of Accounts suggests that the Turkish Armed Force is composed of a total amount of 332,150 employees, but my contribution referring to the data has been reverted for the second time, simply saying "it's wrong" without any counter-argument, nor reference. And now the article depends on estimates by third party institutions, rather than the Turkish authorities themselves. AscendencyXXIV (talk) 06:49, 24 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
